The title EXP (spoken in individual letters, e / x / p) stands for experiment or exploration. All sounds have been generated in real-time by software synthesizers. They open completeley new and unlimited musical possibilities, but the handling is more or less reduced to an external keyboard and the computer mouse. Spontaneous changes of sounds, such as known from analogeous intruments, having an actuator or a button for each function, requires special controllers and high performance computers.
 
The music this album sometimes is compared with the early works of Klaus Schulze or Pink Floyd, but as well with music of Jean Michel Jarre.
